great helpers

Perfume helps us to forget the pleasant smell of the nature; river, trees, flowers, and beloved ones. Loud music helps us to ignore the melody of the nature; stream, rain, wind, and birds' singing. Blindness helps us to miss the beautiful movement of the nature; seasons, animals, children, and ourselves.

香水使我們遺忘大自然的香氣;噪樂使我們遠離大自然的旋律;無明使我們錯過大自然的舞蹈。

Every spring in Kapilavastu, the people celebrated the Plowing Festival, in which King Suddodana himself led the bullock-and-plow races.
Although the crowds cheered for the racers, young Siddhartha could not cheer. He saw only the suffering of the bullocks, which were beaten nearly to death. He watched with sorrow and wondered,

"Love is really to want to see you.
It is a desire to see you.
To do that I have to free you to be you,
and to understand you as you are,
rather than projecting my own thoughts about you."

It feels good

It has been a good feeling for me for a long time: when preparing food for dinner, green vegetables are all over my kitchen table! If any edible on the table is not green color, then it will be carrots, potato, red or yellow pepper, eggplant, ginger, or gojis. None of them is animal product. Even though I may get sick occasionally, I know that I am sick "healthily". Having plenty of vegetables to eat always makes me feel contented, lucky, and grateful. Other than being with the significant other in my life, it feels great to be a vegetarian.
