To truly look into myself, I found myself a vegetarian. I haven't had meat, fish, and fetid vegetables (garlic, onions, leeks, and so forth) for two and a half years. Friends always ask me if I feel weak or run out of energy easily. Do I get sick very often? Do I still want them? No, not at all.
On the contrary, I feel great being a person who doesn't eat these kinds of food. I feel healthier throughout my body and mind, clearer in thinking, lighter in weight and my physical movements, stronger in soul. My empathy is growing as well.
I wonder why we as human being can live a better life, but most of us choose not to.
……
A simple and interesting example Yugan told me long time ago is:
Dogs drool when they spot a rat scurrying across the road, humans do not. Will you?
I think it's nothing wrong with being a vegetarian. Don't ask somebody why he is a vegetarian, ask yourself why you aren't.

窗外,細微的雪花開始飄舞
一點一點的
敬大自然
我向祂學習到好多
向白雪學習沉靜的特質與力量;
向風學習隨遇而安;
向雨學習無私地滋養大地、幫助他人;
向樹學習求根本,耐性和毅力;
向日月星辰,學習中庸之理,樸實的自然節律;
天賜的導師,正在教我自然異變的恆與定。
I keep studying with the beauty of the nature, and perhaps what I have learned and am still learning are more than I can tell.
From the white snow: the grace and the power of silence;
From the varying wind: the profound reconciliation (I could make for any
obstacles that I'm encountering);
From the richness of the rain: selflessly to nurture the earth, to be helpful to
others;
From the determined trees: the searching for our own root, the vitality and the
patience; and,
From the sun, the moon, and the stars: the nonjudgmental quality of the natural
rhythm.
Authentically, the great teachers are teaching me the eternity and certainty in the changing world.
